Hands down, Christmas is my favorite time of year. Something about the warmth of the colors, the smell of baking, glowing lights, and fireside candles just make everything better!
As much as I love Christmas, I have always been a strict Christmas decorating the day after Thanksgiving kind of girl. With that being said, this year that completely went out the window! A lot of you shared you felt the same this year. I was ready. I was ready for some Christmas cheer and the joy that comes with decorating our home for Christmas. Without further ado, come decorate with me!
Welcome to Our Home
We completed a lot of home renovations this year so decorating the front of our home for Christmas was so fun. Starting with the walkway, I was able to plant some poinsettias and I actually left the burgundy mums mixed in. To be honest, since this was my first time dealing with poinsettias, I was a little nervous. So far so good!
Since we don’t do lights on the house, I like a light show at the front door 😉 Starting on the left of the picture, we have a little lighted present set aside a small pre-lit tree. The exact one I have is from Hobby Lobby last year. They have a similar one this year.
The small set of presents my soon to be in-laws bought for us a couple years ago but these have become very popular! I found some sets that I would buy if I didn’t already have them. I found this beautiful rattan and buffalo check set and if you like a little more color this 3 box set is great!
Leading up to the door, I had a few extra poinsettias so I left them potted and placed them by the door as a tie in to the flower beds. The red and white rug underneath the doormat, I bought at Hobby Lobby over the Summer. The only I linked is under $20!
The wreath is my new addition this year and I love it. My best tip of advice. There are hidden decor gems at the most random stores. I purchased this wreath from Sams Club! Now I know Sam’s has some Christmas decor but the quality of this wreath is next level! They were only sold in store but check your local Sam’s!
Santa is Comin’ to Town
Walking into our home, I wanted the first impression to be warm and inviting. I kept it more on the simple side but it fits this space just right. Laying over the entryway cabinet I have this beautiful pre-lit garland. We purchased it last year and I love it just the same this year.
To break up the garland, I placed the Merry & Bright sign in the front. This was a random Home Goods find last year. I love when that happens! Then in the back on both sides I placed these beautiful tinsel trees in a champagne color. This year they also have them in green.
The two Santa’s on each side of the entryway cabinet were also Home Goods finds last year. Tristan and I went to look for last minute pieces and before I knew it, he had a shopping cart with two Santa’s in it! Now they are apart of the family 😉
The Main Event
Our living room is used quite a lot. It’s a room of the house that to me has to be cozy. This is our second year with the Sierra Cashmere tree and I still love it. It’s 9 ft and the tips of the branches are flocked with cashmere ever so slightly. I wanted a green traditional tree but not SO green. This tree was perfect. It gives me the green I was after but with a softer look.
The cabinet under the TV and the decor on top may look familiar to you. That is because to keep it simple and provide a good flow, I duplicated the entryway! The only difference is instead of the Merry & Bright sign I hung our stockings.
Remember when I mentioned earlier that you can find the cutest decor in the most unlikely places? Michael’s, yes, Michael’s the craft store. I had no clue they sold any sort of decor. On a whim last year I stopped in for something and hit the jackpot!
The red & white striped blankets and the pillows in this picture all came from Michael’s last year! I looked online and they have a ton of cute ones again this year.
Christmas Feast
Our kitchen table is our main dining area. I need it to be functional, but at the same time want it to be ever so cute. On that note, you may have noticed I have two different placemats. The red circular ones are for eating and the white & red snowflake ones are strictly decoration! Once our dining room set comes in those will go there so I don’t need to worry 🙂
I grabbed the red circular ones from Home Goods this year and the red and white snowflake ones along with the table runner came from Target two years ago! I love adding to my collection. Each year I reuse as much as I can and then just incorporate a couple of new pieces.
There are a few more areas of the home you can see fully decorated over in the home tour I posted to my YouTube channel! I hope you enjoyed my Christmas home tour. Wishing you blessings and love this Christmas season.
Till Next Time,
