Beauty Empties – Products I Finished in the Past 3 Months

There is something so satisfying about having a pile of products I finished. One, I know I’m taking good care of myself and two, I know my products are not going to waste! When I have product empties, I always view them in a bye or buy fashion. Bye – For whatever I would not re-purchase and Buy- I have already or will be repurchasing. Let’s jump in and see if this round of products I finished are bye or buy!

beauty empties

Facial Cleansers

We have a repeat offender for this first category. Clinique Rinse-off Foaming Cleanser is and continues to be, a cleanser that will be in my shower. I love how gentle this cleanser is. At the same time, it leaves your skin feeling clean and fresh. For this reason, I will always repurchase this cleanser. Sometimes I find that gentle cleansers don’t always leave that fresh face feeling. I’m also one who really likes a good lather for a cleanser and this one gets super sudsy!

If you read my Daytime Skincare Routine post, then you would have seen this next empty. The Clinique Clarifying Lotion is one of my go-to daily toners. I mentioned this in my post but want to share again since it’s important to note. This toner is one that you really want to ensure you are using in the right skin type formula. I currently am using the dry combination formula. Your skin will let you know if you are using the wrong formula for this toner!

The last cleanser empty was a unique find for me. Unique in the sense that I had no idea Marshall’s sold the brand Boscia! A pleasant surprise to say the least. I finished the Boscia Tsubaki Cleansing Oil-Gel and was very pleased. However, I did use this product as a makeup remover/first cleanse product. Personally, I would not use this cleanser as the main event. All in all this would be a buy for me as a first cleanse product.

Hair Care

A girl and her dry shampoo is something you don’t mess with a good thing. I wish I could say all dry shampoo was created equal but the truth of the matter is, they are very different from one another. Happy to report, another product I finished was Drybar Detox Dry Shampoo and is definitely a buy.

First and foremost can we talk about the scent. This dry shampoo smells so wonderful! I have fine/thin hair. With that being said, my hair can look greasy pretty fast. This dry shampoo really refreshes and revives my hair.

Shampoo and conditioner I don’t really look outside of my tried and true NAVY haircare. For about a year now, I have used Search & Rescue line from NAVY. It is a biotin and vitamin enriched line that has really helped my hair. I have dealt with hair thinning in the past and this line has really helped strengthen my hair. The biotin and vitamins can help with regrowth and I am here for it!

Body Care

I will spare you the nitty gritty details of switching to natural deodorant 🙂 I will share however, that once you find one that works for you and your body, you most likely will not switch. For me, Native deodorant is the one that works best. Highly likely you will see this every time I talk about products I finished.

There are a few things that I love besides the fact that it actually works with my skin. Native offers a wide variety of scents, a discounted subscription service, and they also offer two formulas: sensitive and regular. My go to scent has been the coconut & vanilla in the sensitive formula. A stick lasts me about 60 days and in turn was able to move my subscription out.

If you like pina coladas…. I cannot use or talk about this next product I finished without that song coming out 😉 Soap & Glory Clean-A-Colada body wash. If you know, you know. This body wash is amazing. The price point for the size, the smell, the suds, I could go on but I’m sure you get the picture. Soap & Glory is now sold at a lot of drug stores as well. This is great because you can use coupons and a lot of times this line has promotions. If you like the smell of coconut and have yet to try this product, you can thank me later!

Makeup and Nail Care

Starting with the beauty empty that was a bye for me. We are talking about Tarte Maneater Self-Sharpening Eyeliner. For me, this eyeliner did no kind of sharpening. What you see is the amount you got. On the other hand, the color was great and formula was smooth. For $20, my only wish was that it was a manual turn up opposed to self sharpening.

A product I have used for years is Urban Decay All Nighter Waterproof Setting Powder. This powder will always be in my rotation. I love that it is translucent, buildable, and leaves a great matte finish. The one claim I’m not too sure on is the statement that it holds your makeup up to 11 hours. Your foundation or setting spray can alter the performance of your finishing powder. None the less, I am a big fan and this will remain in my rotation!

For years now, I have painted my own nails at home. A lot of nail polish brands will not stay put on my nails. No matter what I do! For me, Essie is the brand that seems to stay on my nails the longest. Needless to say, when Essie came out with their Gel Couture line I was thrilled! My hope was that it would provide extra shine and staying power.

The Essie Gel Couture Top Coat is the only top coat I use. In addition to providing extra shine and staying power, it also provides more of a quick dry. Less time fanning my nails the better.

All in all, I would say this round of products I finished was successful! I hope you find these posts helpful and if there are any products you would like me to review for an upcoming empties post, just drop a comment below!

I like that concept of buy or bye. I think I may have subconsciously been doing that, but now I could make an effort to do this more to stop wasting money on products I don’t use. Great post!

I like reading beauty empties product reviews than normal reviews because I think when someone uses up a product, they will have a more candid review than ever.
Thank you for sharing an informative and helpful post!
