5 Minute Makeup Routine – Feel Put Together In A Flash

Becoming a new mom, getting ready everyday is something that is important to me. A sense of normalcy in the chaos is what I need to feel like myself. This makeup routine is great not only for new moms but for any busy woman looking to save time yet feel put together.

Start With The Base

It’s all about the base! I’ve used the Tarte Poreless Primer for several months now and really love it. The consistency is almost gel like and dries very smooth. My makeup glides on so easily when I use this as my base. It also holds my makeup in place all day and that is obviously the point!

For my 5 minute makeup routine I went back to a ride or die foundation that I have used for years, MAC Studio Fix Fluid. The fact that this foundation is so buildable is why I always go back to it. They also have this in a compact powder form but I don’t love the formula of that one so I stick with the fluid.

If you’re someone that naturally has dark circles or are a new very tired mama like I am, I would highly recommend a rose color corrector. The rose color combats the dark circles and has a much better impact than if you were to use a flesh color concealer. My go-to rose color corrector is Le Correcteur de Chanel. Urban Decay used to make a color corrector Naked Skin one that I love but they have discontinued it.

For concealer, I actually don’t have a favorite. I use several different ones and love them all fairly equal. I mainly use concealer on my nose since it tends to get red throughout the day. Of course if I have any pesky blemishes I’ll use it on those too. If I had to choose, I’d say the concealer I grab the most would be MAC Studio Fix 24 hr Smooth Wear Concealer.

To finish off my base makeup, I always use a pressed powder mainly in my T-zones. I personally love a translucent powder over a flesh toned one. It also has to be a pressed powder. I tried loose powder once and never again, LOL. I know some of you feel me on that. My go-to pressed powder is Tarte Smooth Operator Amazonian Clay Pressed Finishing Powder.

Blush & Bronzer

I love finishing off my base makeup with blush and bronzer. Not only do they give some color to my face but you can also use them to contour and define your face. In this category, I’m a NARS girl. I am interested to try the creme blushes and bronzers that are coming out more recently though! They are so pretty and look very easy to blend.

NARS Laguna is no stranger to anyone and is the main bronzer I gravitate to. It’s buildable and works as a great contour shade for my fair skin. There is supposed to be a slight gold shimmer to this bronzer but I don’t see it on my skin. If that is something you prefer to avoid, they also have a matte formula as well.

For blush, I feel like NARS Behave is underrated. I never hear anyone talk about this shade and I think it’s perfect! It’s a beautiful pink mauve shade and great to wear year round.

Big Bold Lashes

Can we agree that putting on mascara helps you feel alive? Am I right?! When you don’t have a lot of time, falsies are not in the cards for your makeup routine. I love a big bold lash. My lashes are fairly long and touch my eyelid. Because of that, I use a lash primer which helps my mascara not to transfer onto my eyelids. My lash primer that I have been using for years is Lancome Cils Booster XL.

When it comes to mascara, one size does not fit all. For me, I like a different formula and wand for my bottom lashes than I do for the top lashes. So, I use two different mascaras! For my top lashes, I love Lancome Hypnose Drama and bottom lashes I use Lancome Definicils. As an added bonus, the NSale always has these three products in their beauty sale and they last me for the year.

Don’t Forget The Brows

To finish out my 5 minute makeup routine, don’t forget about your brows! The fastest way for me to fill in my brows is to use Anastasia Brow Definer. I use the shade medium brown. If I am looking for a more defined brow I will use Anastasia Brow Wiz. This pencil has a much more pointed tip which allows for more precision.

Got A Little Extra Time?

If I have a little more time or am going somewhere, I’ll grab for my Tarte Double Take Eyeliner. I have been using this for years and it quickly became a ride or die product. I love that one side is liquid and the other side is a pencil. It also comes in brown and black and I always have both shades on hand.

At some point you will see these products in my beauty empties posts as well!
