Last Minute Halloween Treats – Skeleton Cupcakes

At one time or another we have all found ourselves needing a last minute dessert or treat for a potluck or party happening that same week! With Halloween right around the corner, I found myself needing last minute Halloween treats! I wanted to share a quick, easy, and very cute treat that I found on Pinterest from Easy Peaszy Meals that would be a hit for any potluck or party. What better for last minute Halloween treats than skeleton cupcakes!

First, you’ll want to make the chocolate cupcakes and set them aside to cool. If you have them on hand, it would be best to use a black cupcake liners so everything blends together. I decided to use the black liners from this set.

You will want to get everything else ready to assemble your skeletons! You will need: chocolate frosting, crushed Oreos, mini & regular marshmallows, yogurt covered pretzels, and a black food pen. In addition, you will also need the sticks to assemble your skeletons!

Take your cupcake and lightly frost the top. Then place a small amount of crushed Oreos on top. Next, place the stick in the center and you are ready to build your skeleton. Start with a mini marshmallow then a yogurt pretzel. You will repeat that two more times. Place a mini marshmallow on top. For the head of the skeleton, you will take a regular marshmallow and cut it in half for the head. With your black food pen, create a face for your skeleton. Lastly, Break a yogurt pretzel in half and place one on each side for the arms.

I was feeling a little extra so I decided to use a cupcake stand that I already had to display them. I found this one at the Target dollar spot a couple years ago and it has come in handy more than once!
