It can be tricky to constantly come up with a weekly meal plan. I do have a few “go-to’s” that we really love but I also enjoy trying new recipes and keeping dinners exciting! There are a few Pinterest recipes I’ve recently tried and thought I’d share. I may also start to do a monthly round up of my top recent recipe finds for that month! I’ve created a board where you can find these recipes as well.
The first recent Pinterest recipe I’ve tried is Creamy Cajun Shrimp Pasta and one that I’m adding to the repeat list. I used wheat pasta and only used one tbs of cajun seasoning and it was perfect. I paired ours with some Annie’s crescent rolls. However, a side Caesar salad is what I think I will do next time. Recipe was pinned from Self Proclaimed Foodie on Pinterest.
Next on the menu, we tried Creamy Chicken Tortellini Soup. This one has household mixed reviews. Such as, my boyfriend didn’t care for this one at all. At the same time, he doesn’t like tortellini so…maybe that’s where I went wrong LOL. I really liked the flavor of the meal. I don’t feel like I could call it a soup though. In other words, it is extremely liquidly. The recipe calls for 1/4 cup of heavy cream. I put a whole cup in hopes it would thicken it up, it was no help. The recipe also calls for 9 cups of chicken broth and I used 8.
I would be tempted to try this one again due to really enjoying the flavor. Although, if I do try again these are the modifications I would make: Use 5-6 cups of chicken broth and in the end if needed, use something to thicken it up like cornstarch or flour. This recipe was pinned from Book of Sarah on Pinterest. (Looks like the recipe came from A Spicy Perspective).
Last on the menu was Cheesesteak Sloppy Joe’s. Another winner for sure. They had great flavor and really tasted like a cheesesteak! I let the mixture simmer for about 5 minutes to create the sauce. It stays on the liquidly side for awhile so the 5 minute mark worked well for me. I didn’t think ahead very well therefore didn’t have a side to go with this. My boyfriend had Doritos as his side and was a happy camper 🙂 This recipe was pinned from The Toasty Kitchen on Pinterest.
All in all, two out of three successful recipes to add to the rotation! I’ll take that any day. Would love to hear in the comments if you’ve tried any of these recipes and what your thoughts are. If you have any favorite recipes that I should try, let me know below!
